AYCE TWO Urban Licks
Posted on August 26, 2010 · Leave a CommentDo you like All You Can Eat deals? I know I do, especially when they’re at Concentric Restaurants. You know Concentric; TAP, One Midtown Kitchen, TWO Urban Licks. All those Atlanta staples. Every once in a while Concentric decides to offer a pretty ridiculous deal that also comes with a few provisions, like it’s only on a certain day or a certain time. But you know what? I’m willing to abide by those silly stipulations and map my day around them as well.
And if you are too then continue reading. TWO Urban Licks is now offering an AYCE on Sundays before 7:00 p.m. And get this, beer and wine is included and it’s only $21! The menu is set, so you’re served the dish of the day along with everyone else which is fine by me because they don’t make a bad dish. An 18% gratuity is added to the bill which is also fine by me because I usually leave 20%.
Overall, the pros outweigh the cons. I’ll be at TWO this Sunday filling my belly with the AYCE meal of the day and libation to go with. Should I go with a wine or an ale? I guess I’ll have to wait until Sunday to make my decision. I hope to see you there Glenridge Walk! It’s only a 20 minute drive from home.

Trivia Night – Done Highlander Style
Posted on August 20, 2010 · Leave a CommentDo you, like me, have a plethora of strange, interesting knowledge? Or possess answers to questions that most people are like, “Huh?” Well, maybe you should partake in trivia night at The Highlander down in Midtown Atlanta.
The Highlander, known for its eclectic bar scene with an assortment of tattoos and great bar food, has Trivia Night every Sunday night from 8:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. It starts promptly after The Simpsons and usually has a Simpsons trivia question thrown in. It’s an excellent place to soak up some beer, listen to some tunes and relax with friends. You can walk out with some stellar prizes such as paid bar tabs!
The Highlander was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on the Food Network with highlights on some of its bar food (try the Cheese Tots and Jamaican Jerk Chili). The wait staff and patrons are super friendly, and welcome new visitors with open arms. It is the perfect formula for good times.
The Highlander is located one block from Piedmont Park and right down the street from Atlanta’s famed Virginia Highlands. So, after a day in the park, drop by and let loose in the ultra cozy bar and lounge. You can find The Highlander located in the rear of the Midtown Promenade between Apres Diem and Ritas off Monroe Drive. Get more info on their website.
Come out and put your skills to the test!

Can You Get VIP at the Georgia Aquarium?
Posted on August 20, 2010 · Leave a CommentI remember visiting the Tennessee Aquarium so many times as a kid growing up in the Metro Atlanta suburbs that I didn’t think I would even want to go to the Georgia Aquarium when it opened a few years back. But, boy, did that change when the opening day got closer! I was pleasantly surprised when I finally took my turn walking through the exhibits of exotic animals living here in Atlanta.
If you have yet to make a day of the world’s largest aquarium, you need to and now is definitely the time. The deal meister, Groupon, has the über deal of the week! They’re offering general admission for just $21 plus you get a “Quick Dip Behind the Scenes Tour.” Not only do you get to walk through the exhibits at your leisure, you also get a 15 minute Behind the Scenes tour with a tour guide that not everyone is lucky enough to receive! This is usually a $41 value, but you can get it here for just 21 bucks! You have 2 days left to purchase this deal.
It’s only a 17 minute drive to the Georgia Aquarium from home and it’s the perfect family “excursion” for the weekend, so be sure and get the deal before it expires or you’ll be stuck paying full price. Who really wants that?

The Braves are Back!
Posted on August 10, 2010 · Leave a CommentHey, Glenridge Walk, do you remember when Sid slid back in ‘92? The ’safe’ call was questionable, but who cares, it propelled us to the World Series! We eventually lost to the Toronto Blue Jays in six games, but it was an amazing season that was an anchor to the longest playoff streak in Major League history! And this season feels like it did back in the early ’90s when the Braves started that amazing feat. I say we start another long streak this season!
We’re in a playoff push as we speak with the Braves only a game ahead of the fighting Phils, who have won 12 of their last 14 games. But, I think the Braves will have enough steam to stave off the Phillies to win the National League East come September. They can’t do it alone though! The team needs us to stay excited and to continue supporting them; besides, they have the best home record in the Majors at 39-15!
The Braves have awesome deals during the week–2 for 1 Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and not to mention, Sunday, August 15th is Mother/Son Day! Each package includes a special discounted ticket, commemorative Mother-Son Day T-shirts, and a pre-game parade around the field. I’m definitely taking my mom; are you?!

Save the Date for Tupperware
Posted on July 28, 2010 · Leave a CommentStock up on your favorite plastic objects. They’ve been around since 1946. It’s time to sing the “Tupperware” song. Mark your calendars for August 22nd at 2:00 PM and stop by Lisa Norton’s apartment – 1015 for our Tupperware Party!
Tupperware is great for several reasons:
- Microwaveable safe
- Green friendly
- Dishwasher safe
- Products for all your needs: storage, freezing, etc.
Have you used a tupperware product before? They’re durable and last forever – compared to other plastic containers.
If you’re unable to make the party, grab a catalog from Lisa and you can make your order.
Are you coming to the party?
